Canoe the Peace River
The Peace River is perfect for paddlers of all skill levels, with gentle currents and stunning natural surroundings. Enjoy viewing local wildlife, such as osprey, deer, owls, hawks, great blue herons, and the occasional alligator. Peace River has an intriguing geology, with large limestone formations frequently emerging from the banks and river bottom, creating shoals and gentle rapids (depending on water levels).
Our brand-new fleet of high end Wenonah non-metallic canoes, premium wood paddles, high quality life preservers (for toddlers, kids, and adults), and adjustable backrests will keep you comfortably cruising down river. The river flows from North to South, so paddling is quite easy. Included in your reservation is shuttle service back to Peace River Oaks, so no need to worry about paddling upriver. Helped by the gentle river flow, the average leisurely trip length is 2-4 hours, depending on how often you stop to take in the sights. So pack a cooler, bring your camera, and come spend a day on the peaceful waters of the Peace River with us. We can't wait to see you!

Calling all thrill seekers! Our adjacent 70-acre property is home to over 3 miles of private trails for the exclusive use of Peace River Oaks guests. Twist and turn your way through a gorgeous old Florida forest along the Peace River. Perfect for adventure seekers, these trails offer an exciting escape into nature, where you'll traverse diverse terrain, encounter scenic river views, and immerse yourself in the tranquility of the wilderness. Featuring a fleet of brand-new ATVs and safety equipment, it’s easy to gear up for a day of unforgettable fun and exploration. We've limited the total number of daily rentals and private ATV's allowed to minimize trail traffic and provide riders with a more pleasant experience. Rentals and private ATV riding privileges are available daily for limited windows, be sure to book in advance to secure your spot!
Guided Fossil Hunting
The Peace River is widely known as a premier destination for fossil hunting with people flocking to the river searching for ancient relics. We've partnered with one of the best fossil guides in the biz, Fossil Recovery, to offer guided tours to help you in your search for ancient treasures. This 4-hour tour includes a canoe and all the equipment needed to help you search for ancient treasures. These trips conveniently depart right from our camp and include shuttle transportation back at the end of your hunt. From megalodon teeth to mammoth remains, the potential to find an amazing piece of natural history is attainable in just one scoop!
